THE JAMWELLY FOUNDATION

In February 3 early years practitioners visited Sunshine School for a week to work with the children and teachers. They arrived late on the Sunday evening and were thrown in at the deep end accompanying two Lower Basic School classes on the annual trip visiting areas of interest in The Gambia. It was a very long day with great challenges with the traffic which saw us only arriving back at school late at night. However we were treated to a fabulous Chicken Yassa supper. 
During the week Fran was based in the youngest nursery class Level 1, Sally in Level 2 and Emily was supporting Level 3. They engaged in learning through play introducing new activities and building on the existing teaching. There was of course down time for the girls to do some of their own sight seeing and relaxing. 
Fran, Sally and Emily settled into Gambian life so quickly and the teachers at Sunshine absolutely adored them. It was most definitely a life changing experience and one they will never forget.
